I think your site is a great idea and very well presented by the way. I also think that this is a great way to connect. It is unfortunate that, we're all on the same side and aside from meeting on a call, we don't talk. We often have EMS nights at our police association bar and of course everyone is invited from fire/paramedics etc. but getting the word out is not always easy.
The members businesses section is a great idea...even just recommendations. Trustworthy and reputable are key.

So far I have save over $200 on purchases made during the month of December. I have purchased from the Maple Block Butcher steaks and cold meat (all organic and steriod free) I have also made a number of purchases of Christmas gifts for my family.
I have also used my card at some local restaurants. I recommend getting your cards out and into circulation to recognize the value they represent.
